Stockport Walkers was founded in 1909 as Stockport CHA Rambling and Social Club.
Our aim is to encourage the love of nature and the open countryside and to foster a spirit of sociability and comradeship.
The Club is affiliated to The Ramblers' Association and The Peak and Northern Footpaths Society.
We welcome new members of all abilities.
Our programme provides weekly walks in Cheshire, Greater Manchester and Derbyshire on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays throughout the year. On Wednesdays we provide walks at four different grades, A, B, and C with A walks being at a faster pace and longer length than B and C being the shortest.
We organise two holidays a year, staying in Holiday Fellowship hotels with good food, varied walks and evening activities. We also meet on occasions for social events, such as a festive lunch.
If you would like to join one of our walks, please phone or E-mail us so that we can contact the walk leader. The leader will then know to expect you and will introduce you to other members at the start of the walk.
