About the Greater Manchester Local Criminal Justice Board
Greater Manchester’s Local Criminal Justice Board (LCJB) is a body comprising of all the different agencies involved in the delivery of justice. Each of the agencies is represented on this site; the Police, Crown Prosecution Service, The Probation Service, Youth Offending Teams, Local Community Safety Teams, Her Majesty’s Courts Service, the Legal Services Commission and Victim Support & Witness Service.
The Board, which was established three years ago, looks at ways of working together to increase the number of offences brought to justice, improve public confidence in the criminal justice system and ensure the needs of victims and witnesses of crime are met at every stage of the criminal justice process.
Stockport Local Criminal Justice Group (LCJG) focuses on the same areas as the Board, but at a local level. Through Stockport LCJG the work of the Board can be targeted around the strengths and weaknesses of the county, ensuring the system is as effective as possible for those it serves – you!
